Job Descriptions

Following is a sampling of the types of positions for which CAO normally recruits candidates. It is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all jobs that might be available at any given time. The job descriptions are designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed within classifications and are not to be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities and qualifications which may be required.


> Management and Professional:
Usually requires post secondary education and related experience. Positions include Vice President, Manager, Supervisor in Terminal Operations, Passenger Services, Human Resources, Accounting and Finance, Security, Aircraft Maintenance, Cargo, Ground Operations, Customer Service, Facility Maintenance, Marketing and Sales, Administration, Administrative Assistant, et al.

> Aircraft Maintenance:
Trouble-shoots engines, systems, or structural malfunctions and repairs or replaces components or parts. Possession of an FAA Airframe and Powerplant License, in addition to experience, is required.

> Flight Attendants:
Airlines require a high school education and one or two years of college or working experience with the public are helpful. Flight attendants are responsible for the safety and service of passengers during flight. Duties include food and beverage service, assisting passengers with baggage, helping ill passengers or passengers with disabilities, answering inquiries and operating mechanical and safety equipment.

> Flight Attendant Management:
Positions include Flight Attendant Inflight Supervisor, Flight Attendant Manager, Flight Attendant Trainer.

> Information Technology:
Positions include Systems Engineers, Web Programmers, IT Technicians and Database Support.

> Ground Operations/Technical:
Flight Dispatcher, FAA Radio Dispatcher, Flight Instructor, Coordinator, et al.

> Passenger Services:
Entry level positions in the following areas: Reservations Agent, Customer Service Agent, Ramp Agent, Ticket Agent, Freight/Cargo Agent, Baggage Handler, Wheelchair Attendant, Ground Transportation Agent, et al.

> Facilities & Building Maintenance:
Entry level non aircraft maintenance positions that include: Airport SecurityAgents, Aircraft Cleaners, Warehouse Workers, Drivers,, et al.

> Retail and Food Service:
Entry level positions include cashiers, sales associates, food servers, utility workers, counter persons, cooks, food preparation, dishwashers, et al.

> Administrative:
Entry level positions include data entry, clerk, receptionist, secretary, et al.

> Internships:
Student internships are also available in various departments of airport management
